Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender

If you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or you're finding that you're questioning your sexual identity, I offer a safe place to explore issues relevant to you. Sometimes the issue of sexuality is the main focus, and sometimes there is no focus on sexuality at all, but as someone who identifies as LGBT, you want a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment to work on things that matter to you.

Many of the LGBT clients I serve feel that they want to work with someone who understands the sometimes unique challenges or experiences that they face, including the coming out process, discrimination in the workplace, non-acceptance or rejection of family and/or friends, internalized homophobia, visibility, shame or embarrassment, acknowledgement of their love and commitment to their partner, and being a part of a community with it's particular ups and downs.

Please note that while I am not a transgender specialist and therefore don't have the expertise to assist with many of the nuances of negotiating the transition process itself, I'm open and transgender friendly. I've taken the time to educate myself on issues relevant to transgendered folks and have personal and professional connections in the local transgender community. I welcome anyone who identifies as transgender as well as their friends, partners, and family members.

I offer a free consultation as a way for us to discuss what you're looking for and how I can be helpful to you. You'll have a chance to ask me any questions you might have, and together we'll decide if we seem like a good fit to work together.

Testimonials
"Honestly, the very first day we met I remember thinking this thought: She is so easy to talk with! And the second thought was: she asks just the right questions!"
— L.B.M.

"I've been stuck on this same issue for longer than I can remember. You're the first person who's helped me have any movement on it. I really didn't think I'd learn anything from this. I'm a believer- awesome."
— B.G.
