LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER & QUEER (LGBTQ+)
If you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or are questioning your sexual identity, I offer a safe place to explore issues relevant to you. Sometimes the issue of sexuality is the main focus, and sometimes there is no focus on sexuality at all, but as someone who identifies as LGBTQ+, you want a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment to work on things that matter to you.
Many of the LGBTQ+ clients I serve feel that they want to work with someone who understands the sometimes unique challenges or experiences that they face, including the coming out process, discrimination in the workplace, non-acceptance or rejection of family and/or friends, internalized homophobia, visibility, shame or embarrassment, acknowledgement of their love and commitment to their partner, and being a part of a community with its particular ups and downs.
Please note that while I am not a transgender specialist and therefore don't have the expertise to assist with many of the nuances of negotiating the transition process itself, I'm open and transgender friendly. I've taken the time to educate myself on issues relevant to transgender individuals and have personal and professional connections in the local transgender community. I welcome anyone who identifies as transgender as well as their friends, partners, and family members.
"Jill Rubin is a great coach. She's helping me with an area of my life that has felt stuck for years. I thought I'd give the coaching a try but I really didn't expect the huge, sudden effect it's had on my life. I've started making some much-needed changes and am feeling excited rather than stagnated and stressed. What a turn-around. I'd definitely recommend her."
